Our chosen 2017/18 charity

   Hatters Charity of the Year 2017

 

We are pleased to announce that we have joined forces with the charity “Pure Insight” to help out with their amazing cause. Pure Insight give help to people aged between 16-28 who are about to leave or have already left statutory care.

Pure Insight work closely with care workers and mentors to “tackle the significant barriers that can be faced by this group of young people including; homelessness, extreme loneliness and isolation, low aspirations and expectations, low confidence and self-esteem, poor educational attainment and crippling financial hardship”

We recently attended a meeting at Marketing Stockport where one of the charities mentors gave a touching presentation about the charity and the people involved. After hearing this we simply needed to give something back to this amazing project and decided that for every new customer within the next 12 months, we would donate £15 to the charity.

Our donation of £15 is enough to provide one person with a free meal at Café Zest each week. Café Zest is a drop in Café set up to provide advice and support for young adults in the Stockport area in a safe and engaging environment. Once a week care workers and mentors get together to help develop relationships and support networks for the young care leavers. The evenings involve learning to cook, information on budgeting, sexual health talks and community quizzes.
