Meet the Newbies!

Spring has sprung in Hatters Towers with two new Account Managers joining the team. Lily and Sam will take overall new business, head up business development and will also look after the Social Media side of things. With every new business client accounting for the £15 we donate to Pure Insight it’s important to keep focusing on building up a new client database.

Welcome, Lily!

Hatters New Team Member Lily Shippen

After finishing her education, Lily came to work for the family business before taking the opportunity to travel the world. After an insightful career working for a Financial Services firm in Manchester, she went to work for a top recruitment firm in London where she spent 3 years as a recruiter on the secretarial support desk working with financial service companies. Lily also runs her own recruitment firm so if you ever need a PA, she’s your girl! http://www.lilyshippen.co.uk

Hi, Lily! What’s your role at Hatters?

Account Manager. I’m focussing on new business as well as developing some of our key accounts. I’m also responsible for accounts and office management. I also bring my A game with office Banter!

So what’s the first job going to be?

Update my LinkedIn and get cracking!

What’s your “Go to jam” to sing to in the car?

I’d like to say something cool but it’s probably something like One Direction… Team Harry all the way!

How would you make a decent brew?

Drop some major hints until someone else did it. Brewing up is definitely not a strong point!

Where can we find you after work on a Friday?

Volta on Burton Road, West Didsbury. Unfortunately, they seem to know mine and Sam’s faces too well now.

Welcome, Sam!

Hatters New Team Member Sam Beech
As well as graduating University with a 2:1 in Computer Animation and Special Effects, Sam enjoyed an 11-year career in hospitality working in Pubs, Clubs, Bars and Restaurants. Most recently Sam has been a General Manager within a large Restaurant company travelling around the UK to help out with all aspects of their operation.

Hi, Sam! What’s going to be your role at Hatters?

Hi! I’m going to be reconnecting with our existing clients and getting out there to meet prospective new ones. I’m quite keen on getting our Social media following to where it needs to be too so there will be a lot of work here. I will also be focusing on our new charity, Pure Insight and making sure that we are bringing in as many clients as possible to ensure our donations keep on flooding in.

So, what’s your first job going to be?

Get to know the team and all the products. It’s a huge step away from everything I’ve known in hospitality so I’m going to have to get my learning hat on (sorry, no pun intended!)

How would you make a decent brew?

Easy peasy! Being a Yorkshireman, it’s something we learn shortly after birth! Teabag in for 2-3 mins, teabag out and go easy with the milk. No sugar and serve. Repeat every 20 minutes until home time.

Teach us something we don’t know.

The official state VEGETABLE of Oklahoma is the watermelon!

Lily and Sam are currently working through their new accounts and would love to meet you. Why not pop in for a cuppa if you’re in the Stockport area. Alternatively, give them a call to discuss any questions you may have.
