Branded Pet Products

In 2019 it’s impossible to scroll down your Instagram or Facebook feeds without seeing photos and videos about your friend’s pets.

Pet parents are on the rise and so too are tailored pet products, cafes, events and clothing to tap into the growing market. In March each year, Birmingham plays host to the largest international canine competition organised by The Kennel Club and “is the largest show of its kind in the world, as declared by Guinness World Records”.

Dedicated websites and apps are being developed to enable pet-sharing and dog walking services in the community, dog and cat cafés have opened in city centres across the world, and forward-thinking companies like Pets at Home are creating ‘pet-friendly’ office HQ’s to accommodate their employees’ pets during the working day.

One of the family…and the team?

We all know someone who treats their dog to food fit for a king or queen (steak anyone?) along with toys, treats and clothing on a regular basis leading us to say things like ‘The dog gets treated better than me round here!’.

Pets are not only being treated like one of the family anymore, but more like children.

According to Forbes “One of the biggest trends in 2018 is the growth of spending on pet costumes” which has been fuelled by millennials’ passion for their furry pals combined with a love of sharing pics on social media.

And employers are tapping into this market. They recognise the importance of our furry friends when trying to attract new talent into the team – with the latest trend being ‘Pawternity Leave’ as recognised by The Guardian, which is being offered by companies Brewdog and Mars in the UK which allows people to take time off to look after new pets.

Finally, there is now a national day for ‘Bring your dog to work day’ which takes place in June, further integrating our pets into our working lives.

At Hatters HQ, we’re fully supportive of this culture and have a resident dog Teddy who roams the offices – and even joins us for meetings! If you don’t believe us, here’s the proof…

Ted is always a talking point for our visitors and often leads them to start telling us stories about their own pets, naturally creating a relaxed and laidback atmosphere in meetings. And despite his occasional ‘mad moments’ he spends most of his day snoozing so not much of a distraction for the team at all.

How can I tap into this market?

Reflective of the market, the number of promotional pet products available to businesses for branding are on the rise so whether it’s branded dog toys, collars, reflective items and even poo bags you’re after (yes, there is a downside to owning a pet…) then we can help.

Here are a few of our favourite pet picks:

But that's not all! Here at Hatters, we can get hold of a whole range of pet inspired products for your business campaign or event - even down to actual bags to put your dog in and carry around!
